Amazon rainforest are one of the world's most difining landscape. It covers over half of Brazil and parts of Guianas, colombia, Equador, Venezuela, Peru and Bolovia. It is worlds largest rainforenst with a very vast biodiversity. It has more than 6000 known species of plants, 15000 animal species and about one fifth of world's birds. Amazon river is itself 6500km long and have thousands of tributeries. Amazon basin also have thousands of tribes, living deep into the jungle.

It is not easy to visit whole jungle. Best is either visit region as a part of guided tour or on a boat trip along the river.

There are many popular points to start an organised jungle trip like Iquitas in Peru. Tena and Misahalli in Equador and Rurrenabaque in Bolivia. Rurrenabaque is the base of the cheapest trip. It is about US$50 for 2days, 1 night. All these places are easy to reach by land, offers accomodations in jungle lodges and establish routes down river and into the forest. There are other starting points alsobut they have less infrastructure and fewer tourists but very similar environment like Letica in Colombia (no road access), Puerto Ayacucho on Venezuela border with colombia and Puerto Maldonado in Peru. There are several National Park close to Puerto Maldonado like the Tambopato Condamo Reserve Zone and manu Biosphere Reserve. They are the region which are most biodiverse on earth and also they are absent from city noise and light. This makes them perfect place to experience atmosphere of jungle.

A quite essential Amazon journey is the Brazilian trip from Belem which is mouth of Amazon river to Manaus. It is right in the heart of rainforest. Here you can miss the wildlife beacaue of width of river but you can see river Dolphins.
